Summary

Everyone wants sustainable improvement of well-being. Therefore should consider one of the most important aspects of life - HEALTH. According to WHO definition, the heath is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Hello Marta
When I seen the summary to your essay I instantly wanted to read it, as the concept of health as the central component of well-being appealed.

There is a technological bias in this essay, which I am always very sceptical of as I do not have much faith that technology or science will provide any solutions to continuing what we have now, a wasteful and excessive society. Some of the solutions you raise seem to hold little promise in providing a sustainable future- such as motorways with energy generating crystals embedded in them, which does not seem to make sense, surely motorways lose far more energy than could ever be generated.

My main point is a question - could the many small scaled solutions (the electricity generating shoes, the rucksacks) make a real impact? Would adopting these en masse make a significant enough impact in terms of net carbon emissions?

Many thanks
